Don't shy away from spam (Image Microsoft)

Do you look after a blog and often find your blog posts overrun with spam comments? If this happens to you it is usually the work of a random spammer or SEO artist turned rogue in an attempt to drive traffic to their own website.

Repeat after me; spam is not my friend so let's stamp it out quickly and quietly.

If you've ever attempted to halt the Spaces spam menace yourself, you might have found it a laborious process. But today I'm going to let you into a bit of a secret, no hassle and no fuss!

Sign-up to get a Spaces account today

First of all make sure you're signed-in to your Spaces account.

Instead of navigating to your default Spaces homepage we're going to visit the 'Mobile' version. If your Spaces default page is http://yourspacesname.spaces.live.com then your mobile Space url is http://yourspacesname.mobile.spaces.live.com (just add .mobile between your Spaces name and .spaces in the url).

To demonstrate,  my own Spaces url is http://windowslivechannel.spaces.live.com which means my mobile Space url is http://windowslivechannel.mobile.spaces.live.com.

Quickly delete unwanted spam comments (this isn't one)

If everything is present and correct you should be greeted with a list of Recent Comments. All recent Spaces activity will be summarised on this screen.

This is where the magic happens, as you can now see a 'Delete comment' option below every comment.

Click 'Delete comment' for every comment you want erasing, it's as simple as that.

If your Spaces account is unfortunate enough to attract masses of spam this handy tip will hopefully save you a lot of time and effort.
